When we moved to Christchurch in January 2006 we used the internet to search for temporary accommodation. We found that most rentals in NZ are unfurnished, but we didn’t want to waste time and energy organising a temporary home while waiting for our own belongings to arrive; after all we had enough to do settling our boys into a new school, finding jobs and home hunting.

So we rented a “holiday home”. It was a pretty and traditional house – with roses and wisteria along a front verandah; but we didn’t settle well, Lynn was homesick for creature comforts of modern living (heating and good kitchen equipment) our teenage boys wanted home access to the internet and Phil missed the essential luxury of his morning power shower!

Looking back we believe a better standard of living would have helped us all feel less homesick in those first important weeks so we started up our business, Faulkner Property Services and used this to bring you "Living Solutionz" providing better temporary homes for people in the same position as us;  we hope we can help you.
